Good afternoon, I am sure we have all enjoyed seeing the sunshine and blue skies today. Now if we can just get some more heat to complete the thaw out. If you have been able to get out today, you know that while most of the main highways are clear and dry we still have several side and back roads that are snow packed and almost impassable. So, we will finish the week with another virtual day on Friday, Feb. 19th.
We will also have a virtual day on Monday, Feb. 22nd. Our regional health department has scheduled a vaccination pod in Norman for PK-12 employees. Several of our staff members have scheduled appointments to receive the vaccination throughout the day. With so many staff members out of the building at any given time we will not have enough staff to adequately supervise the students. We are all ready to get back to in person learning and hopefully the progress that is being made with the vaccinations will ensure more in person days in the future.
Good afternoon, well maybe we have turned a corner and can begin the long thaw (knock on wood). Due to the condition of several of our roads Am-Po Schools will again be closed tomorrow, Thursday, Feb. 18th, and continue with virtual/distance lessons.
Good afternoon, Due to road and weather conditions Am-Po schools will remain closed tomorrow, Wed. Feb. 17th. Students should continue to complete assignments assigned virtually or previously sent home. If you experience a power outage just contact your teacher(s) as soon as you can and we will make adjustments. With more winter weather in the forecast we will continue to monitor the situation and make decisions daily for the remainder of the week. Stay safe and warm.
PLEASE NOTE: District Playoff games originally scheduled for Saturday, February 20 have been moved to Tuesday, February 23.

Due to inclement weather and negative wind chills, Am-Po Schools will have a remote learning day on Tuesday, February 16th. Please stay safe and warm.
Good afternoon, due to current weather conditions, Am-Po schools will be meeting virtually tomorrow, Monday, Feb. 15th.
Demo has begun and work on Phase II is underway.
Good evening from the North Pole, or so it seems. We have been watching weather reports and checking roads all day long and have decided that we will be in school tomorrow, Thursday, Feb. 11th. We will check roads again in the morning in case something changes overnight. If your child rides a bus please do not have them wait outside, if necessary we will wait for them a little longer than normal. This may cause some of our routes to take a little longer so please be patient if they are running late. If your child normally drives to school and you would prefer for them to leave a little later please do so. We will be flexible and allow additional time for safe travel. For the most part, roads in the district are in good shape and dry but we encourage everyone to take your time and be aware of the conditions in the morning.
If we receive the amount of snow they are predicting over the weekend, several days next week may be impacted. Students and staff will need to prepare for the possibility of distance learning in the event school has to be closed.
We will be out of school on Friday, Feb. 12th as previously scheduled and we will reschedule our Parent-Teacher conference night soon.
Stay safe and warm!
