Good afternoon. As you may or may not be aware our elementary site in Pocasset went through a lockdown this afternoon. Many of the details are still unknown but we wanted to assure everyone that at no time was the school or any student ever in any sort of direct threat. It is our understanding that there was an incident at a business in Pocasset and out of an abundance of precaution we were directed by the Grady County Sheriff's office to initiate our lockdown procedures. By the time we dismissed school, we were given the all-clear and were able to dismiss as normal. We are very thankful to the Grady County Sheriff's Office and the Highway Patrol for their assistance and guidance during the situation.
