Well, we are just three weeks away from the bond vote for Amber-Pocasset public schools. Several people have asked about the impact the gas plant and other industries will have on the bond. The way bonds are structured, every property owner in the district, whether an individual or corporation, is responsible for their portion of the bond based on their valuation as determined by the county assessor.
The attached chart shows that the district's largest corporations, including the gas plant, will pay for 77% of the total bond. The impact on individual taxpayers will be extremely minimal, with each one accounting for less than 1%. And as the district’s valuation continues to grow the impact will lessen even more.
